Why use an E Portfolio ?

Why use an e portfolio? Students should use e portfolio because it allows for them to be apart of their own learning. E portfolio allows the student to see their progress. Students will be able to see where they started as well give insight about where they are going. What I like most about the e portfolio is that it belongs to the student there’s no right or wrong way to do it. It’s your perception of learning and no one can take that from you. Why reflect? The reflection from learning is extremely important. We learn from experience and being able to reflect from that experience is how you learn as well as how to help others. E portfolios provide reflection, students can collect all data of everything they’ve learned and distribute it to the world. For example, my e portfolio will focus on the importance financial literacy. There will be a collection of data showcase such as charts, diagrams, and video from experts. Benefits There are several benefits to having an e portfolio, but the one that sticks out to me the most is being able to understand the process is just as important as the product. Students will appreciate the process because it will highlight their strengths while working on there weaknesses. And that’s the ultimate benefit.
