Who owns the E Portfolio?

After working on this project for three weeks straight, I am convinced that I own it. “It’s mine and you can’t have it.” However, if I as the student do not determine the data, it then becomes an assignment. In order, to have ownership over the digital domain we must have COVA. COVA simply means being able to solve real life problems in their own institution and organization. My e portfolio is centered around COVA, I work as a financial advisor at Lamar University. My goal is to teach students the importance of financial literacy. I plan to work with each student who has a financial dilemma one on one, by performing coaching sessions and providing expert testimony. This will be my first opportunity to take ownership of what the student is learning.

So once my e portfolio is graded, do I still own it? The student takes ownership of their ideas and reflections. When this happens, meaningful connections start to build, and the learning process begins. However, the internet can be radical at times. The argument between student’s privacy and having a voice versus certain restrictions that shouldn’t be shared online is a constant battle. I believe that students should be free thinkers but there should be restrictions as well. That’s life, with anything you do there is always going to be rules and regulations. The country was built on laws.
