Progressive Education in the 1940's

As I sit with my eyes close and listen to the video assigned a lot of the verbiage is still recognized today. Such as “learning by doing”, a student can learn how to perform a certain duty before reading about it to gain understanding. Although this learning technique has changed over the years it still the same. For example, most of us who have a driver license have never actually read the driver handbook. We study or shall I say memorize what will be on the test. Our driving skills are then developed as we practice “hands on” each day.

I feel as though education is not going to change more significantly, because the learning methods that are showcase works. We are so accustomed to the “it’s not broke don’t fix it method.” I do believe there will be some adjustments made with use of technology and how it has expanded. But as far as a real change, that will cause for the entire school industry to change as a whole, and that’s not likely going to happened.
