The Benefit of Networking
Networking is extremely important in the financial services industry because it is naturally a volatile job market functioning in an extremely competitive environment. More so than in many other industries, you need to give people value in order that they value having you as part of their professional network. As a financial advisor, it is a good way to practice your communication skills. Good communication is critical, it teaches you how to build a trustworthy relationship with your students that will last.
I’ve been honored to be apart of a few learning communities in my field of financial counseling that have taught great deal about networking. Whether online or face to face, it can pay real long-term dividends to foster and maintain relationships with trusted connections who you can rely on help and advice and who you, in return, are willing to help and mentor.
